Highways 64, 56, and Interstate 24 connect the town with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.  Monteagle, being the highest point via the interstate between Chicago and Miami, entices many tourists to leave the interstate for a while.

Monteagle boasts its  five-star restaurants. This plateau has some of the finest cuisine found in this country. It's all owned and prepared by local folks, from down home to gourmet cooking. These cooks have traveled and been trained throughout the world. Monteagle offers an excellent selection of fine wines to use with any meal of your choice.

Long recognizing the desirability of the mountain area, over a hundred years ago the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly was founded as the Chautauqua of the South and continues to swell the town population during the annual summer season as guests arrive to spend the summer in their fascinating Victorian cottages.
